Does anyone have a good reference they use for maps for settings? I have to set my story just outside London on a farm, but I can't figure out (looking at some of the maps I've seen) where London actually ends.

I've checked Google Maps, which is good for names of places, but because it's current, it's not relevant.

Ooh, my favorite subject: Maps! There are lots of old maps online. Check this link (which, ahem, you could have found on the Regency Links page on my website Wink ):

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~genmaps/index.html

Click on a county for a long list of old maps. I can spend hours on this site! Have fun!

Oops! Embarassed Sorry bout that, Candice! I searched all these different places, such as google maps and the like, but I didn't think of your site. I will slap my own wrist and use my head next time. Thanks for the link.

And if that one doesn't answer your questions, you can try one of the ones I have bookmarked on the Beau Monde del.ici.ous site.
