Busy with work...lots to do this week. And I am slowly cleaning the house and hoping to finally paint my wee lad's room.
I am still recovering though from a viral inner ear infection so my progress with cleaning has been slow. I can only do a little at a time then I have to take a break to let the dizziness subside. The doctor said it would take about 5 weeks for the infection to work its way through my system.
Oh and I finally got my Television back. I had to have it repaired. I did have a Television on loan, but I am so happy to have my own back. _________________ Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.

Ugh. Inner ear stuff sucks.
I'm currently trying to take in the notes from my editor on the proposal for my second book . . . it's like doing mental gymnastics and technically I think it's good for the grey matter.
Oh, and I'm reading Nalini Singh's Angel series. Great books! _________________ -Kalen

Not doing so well here at the moment...
We are still trying to organize our move to Germany, even though we are not really sure that we actually want to move anymore. The Husband is literally worrying himself sick with all this and Little Miss is saying that she does not want to move at all while I am going back and forth between wanting to go and wanting to stay, so we are not in a good place right now. And to top it off, yesterday we found out that somewhere along the line there was a major mess-up with the approvals for everything (basically, the manager promised us something that we might not get, which would cost us a lot of money...), so we are seriously considering our options now. New Zealand is looking better by the minute

I've been MIA from The Manor this month. Returned to read Candice's sorrowful news.
Getting ready now for the trip to RWA in Orlando.
Kalen, all the best with processing your editor's suggested changes. They're suggestions, not mandates. Looking forward to seeing you next week.
Wellies, I'm sorry the move's been so temperamental. Not knowing is always harder than having a hard but definite plan.
BriarRose, hope you feel well soon. You love painting, so I'm hoping the room painting aids in your recovery.
Have a great last week of July, Bluestockings, and I hope to return armed with photos from RWA. _________________ Medieval & Regency Writer

I'm still sorting through my Dad's stuff. Though he was organized (I get my anal tendencies from him), he was not always neat and tidy, so I am trying to neaten up the place for my Mom. I've unearthed some amazing stuff, things that have made me want to dive into geneology to see if I can fill in some gaps.
Still a ton of stuff to do in terms of bank accounts, trusts, insurance, social security, military penions, bills, etc. It's going to take me a long while to get things nicely in order. I'm still not sure my Mom can really remain here on her own when I finally go home. Even with a part-time caregiver, I worry. She needs to move into Assisted Living, but is fighting it. I'm not going to push because she's had too much emotional turmoil to deal with.
Also trying to re-focus on my novella for Avon. Had to put it aside for a long while because of my Dad, but it's time to get back to that story. _________________

I've been a nutjob dealing with an overload of depression. But I'm slowly moving past all that doom/gloom stuff and trying to see some sort of light. But apparently, I still have hoops to jump through.
Two days ago I had to completely restore my pc (not fun, but at least not due to a virus). This following not having power for some very hot, sticky, humid, miserable hours after TS Bonnie hit.
TS Bonnie might not have had the wind of a hurricane but she was packed full of thunder/lightening. Lightening struck the house across the street and burnt a great deal of it down. Thankfully everyone was able to get out ok.
In other scary, nerve-wracking news... My 18 y/o daughter moved out of her dads house. She is now officially living on her own. Who ever said that having a little one was stressful hasn't hit the "just barely adult" age yet.
I have not stressed so hard in my life. A whole new ball of "what ifs" has flitted through my head at the speed of sound. But I'm trying VERY hard to let her be an adult and not call her every 5 minutes to make sure she is ok.
Well, I think that is mostly it for now. I do hope everyone is doing ok! And if not, I hope ya'll are at least seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
ETA: I forgot to mention... While the power was out, I did teach myself how to knit. I had bought some needles and yarn the night before, just in case, and read a few posts on how to begin. And I did it! I'm knitting *smile*. I don't have much so far, but I'm about 30 rows in. I'm kinda excited about it all.
The FIL said I'm a bit late for my kids but he guessed I could be getting ready for my daughter *implying that I will be a grandma soon*.
For the record, she's not preggo. But I'm hoping to be a grandma... at some point hehe. |

Go Haven!! I never mastered the two needle thing, just not that coordinated. I can crochet endlessly though, all sorts of things. It may be good that your daughter is older, mine is little and I have to make something or another every week. Last week it was a skirt, this week a snuggie, who knows what next!! LOL, but it is a lot of fun. _________________
