The Bridgerton Couture page is up on my website! This is where Julia Quinn uses my Regency fashion plates to dress her Bridgerton heroines. We'll be updating the page with a new heroine every month or so. Check it out and let me know what you think. _________________

Ooooh!! Glad to see this take off. Daphne's carriage spenser is delicious!!!
This is the first time I've seen and read a mention of a mantle to be worn over the spenser. Makes complete sense of course, especially during the frigid Regency winters.
Candice, is the mantle simply draped free-form, or like the medieval versions, is it attached by a brooch? Did the mantles usually match the spenser and hat, or was it possible to have one mantle like one muff that goes with every outfit? _________________ Medieval & Regency Writer

It appears to be attached with a brooch in this case. I have prints that show dresses with matching mantles and spencers, and some with a mantle of a different color or fabric. And certainly a mantle could be worn without a spencer, so you might see it tossed over a white muslin dress one day and a sprigged or striped dress the next day. As now, fashion rules of the Regency were never hard and fast. _________________
