| |
I know about the ways to address an aristocrat if I'm another aristocrat. (sort of). However, if I'm a servant how do I address the aristocrat? And, is there different ways of addressing different levels by a servant? For example: is a duke addressed differently than a baron by a servant? And, do the different levels of servants have different ways of addressing their master? For example: a butler as opposed to a scrubbing girl? _________________ Kay |

Lord or Lady = "my lord" or "my lady"
Duke or Duchess = "your grace" (sometimes also "my lord" by an equal; but this is hotly contested by some people and its use can be confusing as just who counts as an equal is unclear)
Mr. or Mrs. = "sir" or "ma'am"
young boy (without courtesy title) = "master Christian name"
young girl (without courtesy title) = "miss" or "miss Christian name"
I think that about covers it. All the servants would address their employer and their employer’s guests and family in the same way. _________________ -Kalen
