There is a new Collections article posted on my website. This time it's about a specific type of fan popular during the Regency, called a brisé fan. Check out the article and let me know what you think.

Very cool Candice!! I love handfans, neat to see how they originated. Next up Language of the Fan, that would be fun to read about. _________________

I love fans including brisé fans. Any one of those fans I would love to have in my collection. I have several in my collection that perhaps are from the Regency period.
This one the seller said was plastic from the 1920s, but I don't think it is plastic:
This one the seller said was blond horn with steel sequins from 1815-1820:

That top one looks very Regency to me, Elinor. Both are lovely. _________________

Oh my, Candice and Elinor, those are all beautiful, Candice I was fascinated with the one that had the flowers, butterflies and birds. Do you know approximately how long it took for one to be made? _________________

Ooh, Elinor, those fans at Christie's are to die for! Wish I could be there to see them in person.
MizMac, I have no idea how long it would take to make one of those fans with the feathers. I know it would take me forever! _________________

Me too Candice but they are so beautiful, so, I take it there were actually arisians that just made fans in the regency era?? _________________
