Hi, I'm new and hoping for some help in adding accurate details to my story. First off, what were those things called that the lady of the house had hanging from her waist? There could be keys and other useful things attached. I believe they were also used as an accessory in some cases. Thank you so much!
P.S. What are the best reference sources for ticky little details like this? |

They're called chatelaines. You can read about them in my Illustrated Regency Glossary, here. _________________

| Wonderful. Now my heroine's mother can fidget with her chatelaine rather than her "key ring thingy". This site is so wonderful! You can't imagine how excited I was when I found out it existed. Thanks for your time! |
