I don't know if this is covered in another topic but I couldn't find anything.
My question is: could a wedding gown be pale pink or does it have to be white. As I have read on some websites that it was either white or silver or pale blue.
If you could help that it would be appreciated as writing about wedding gowns for my NaNoWriMo story.

I have at least one fashion print of the era that shows a pink wedding dress, though I will confess that I have always found it somewhat suspicious as it is certainly a ball gown, and weddings were in the morning.
I don't think white was absolutely prescribed for wedding dresses in the Regency. Again, I suspect this may be a Victorian thing, as Victoria was married in white and probably started the trend. Girls of good fortune would certainly pull out all the stops for a wedding, with the finest morning dress and bonnet she could find. (Don't forget the bonnet. A daytime church wedding required one.) Middle and lower class girls simply wore their Sunday best for a wedding.
Check out the Regency Timeline on my website to see Princess Charlotte's silver wedding dress from 1816. _________________

Most of the fashion plates I've seen for the Regency specify white gowns for weddings, so it was certainly a trend already, but not a rule. If your character is wealth, and is having a gown special made, it would most likely be white (most women simply wore their best gown, regardless of color, which is true all the way up through the Victorian and Edwardian periods).
Princess Charlotte was married in silver.
You can see some period fashion plates here:

I think white might seem to have been prevalent because so many girls' best dresses were white muslin. It may be that white was not a rule, but was simply fashion.
I *love* Princess Charlotte's silver wedding dress. _________________

Thank you for your responses.
I think I might have to go back and edit the colour of the dress.
I have had a look at Princess Charlotte's dress and it is very beautiful and has helped me come up with a design for a dress.
Thanks again. _________________ Leanne Claremont - wannabe writer! |

It's worth noting that the apron on Princess Charlotte's dress is not original to the gown. _________________ -Kalen
