I'm just wondering if Vauxhall Gardens would be alright for a respectable young lady, because I have heard that it was a popular spot for, hmm hmm, 'light-skirts'. Surely any respectable chaperone would not want their fashionable debutante in such terrible company???? _________________

Depends on the year, the event, and who she would be going with. _________________ -Kalen

Kalen is right. The respectability factor changed over the years. During the Regency, especially the later years, Vauxhall was already in decline. Just make sure if your heroine goes there it is with a respectable party of friends and family. Of course she can always get separated from her chaperone while strolling in the gardens on the arm of her hero. Happens all the time! _________________
