Historical Blogs

Here are some of my favorite blogs about history. There are always wonderful articles on various historical topics, many updated daily:

  • At the Sign of the Golden Scissors: Short, interesting posts, beautifully illustrated, on 18th century fashion.
  • English Historical Fiction Authors: This group of mostly UK authors regularly post articles on all areas of English history.
  • Georgian Gentleman: Mike Rendell posts articles about all sorts of Georgian topics, many inspired by the collection of papers he inherited from his Georgian ancestor.
  • Historical and Regency Romance UK: This group of UK authors also posts some wonderful historical articles (along with occasional promos for their books).
  • Historical Hussies: Another group of writers who are history junkies and post interesting articles.
  • History Hoydens: This was one of the first author blogs to focus on history and still one of the best. Lots of great articles.
  • Jane Austen’s World: This blog is devoted to all things relevant to the world in which Jane Austen lived. Lots of good Regency information.
  • London Historians’ Blog: “Random musings about London History.” Lots of fun articles.
  • Number One London: London history enthusiasts Kristine Hughes and Victoria Hinshaw always have something interesting to offer.
  • Regency History: Lots of well-researched articles on Regency topics.
  • The Regency Redingote: Wonderful articles on various — often obscure — Regency topics, meticulously researched. Lengthy articles, but no illustrations.
  • Two Nerdy History Girls: Authors Loretta Chase and Susan Holloway post an interesting article every day!
