“New Covent Garden Theatre” by Thomas Rowlandson and Augustus Pugin, engraved by John Bluck, from The The Microcosm of London published by Ruldolph Ackermann, 1810.

The Microcosm of London was a huge 3-volume set containing 104 hand-colored prints, published between 1808 and 1810. Sites depicted in the prints were arranged alphabetically, with a few additional prints added at the end. This print is one of the added prints (Plate 100). The original print for Covent Garden Theatre was published in the first volume in 1808 (Plate 27). But the theatre burned down later that year. A new theatre was built 1809, so that Ackermann was able to commission a new print of Covent Garden Theatre for the third volume of the Microcosm which was published in 1810.
