The Rose and the Nightingale

The Israel Museum in Jerusalem held an exhibit in 2023-2024 celebrating the motif of divine and earthly love in Iranian art created during the Qajar Era.

One section of the catalog relates to Victorian Tear Bottles (what I name as Throwaway Scent Bottles in my collection) in the context of Iranian Ashkdan (swan-neck tear bottles). Having found the article on Throwaways on this website, the curator contacted me for permission to feature an image of my bottles in the exhibition catalog. Instead of sending one of the website images, I photographed a new image for him to use. You can see it below, beneath an image of ashkdan from the 1st – 4th centuries.
