Another excellent book by fashion historian Hilary Davidson, this time a sort of dictionary of fashion terms.
The descriptions are thorough and often illustrated. Some of Candice’s prints are used in this book, including this one illustrating the term cloak:
But Candice’s favorite part is in the section on Further Resources at the beginning of the book. Under Periodical and Magazines, many of the ladies’ magazines of the period are mentioned, and then this:
